Best Ways To Increase Your Child Immunity

Monsoon is here and so are Germs and viruses, which easily attack kids; there can be many reasons for that. You can say it’s because they are easily exposed to them, or because of low immunity. Children prime their immunity by battling a running series of germs, viruses, flu, and other organisms. That is because why many pediatricians consider approx. six to eight colds, bouts of flu, or ear infections per year very normal in kids.

After becoming a parent now I have found that when your kid gets attacked by the flu or virus that is the worst time you can imagine. It will make your kid feel miserable and looking your kids suffering from that stage will make you feel the same misery. SO the basic question arises that, what will you do to protect your kid from the endless array of germs and viruses?

So there are few healthy habits through which we mothers can help in giving your child’s immune system a boost.

  • Fruits and vegetables: We need to introduce immunity-boosting nutrients as vitamin C to our kids. These nutrients can increase the body’s production of infection-fighting white blood cells in kids and help them fight the viruses.

 Carrots, green beans, oranges, strawberries

You can try giving them direct, making smoothies, adding in khichdi, in form of juice etc. We need to make kids feel comfortable with them. They need to love what they are eating.

Try to get kids to eat five servings of fruits and veggies a day. (A serving is about two tablespoons for toddlers, 1 cup for older kids.)

  • Sleep Time: Studies shows that sleep deprivation can make adults or kids more susceptible to illness. Kids playing all day or particular in daycare are at risk for sleep deprivation because all the activities there can make it difficult for them to nap. Nap in the daytime is very essential for immunity and growth.

A newborn may need up to 18 hours of crib time a day, toddlers require 12 to 13 hours, and preschoolers need about 10 hours.

If kids are not taking a nap at day try to put him sleep early at night. So that they can make the sleep balance and have a full sleep.

  • Yoga / Exercise: It is not necessary that only adults can do exercise or yoga. We need to make sure that good habit of exercise and yoga need to be inherited in kids. Research shows that exercise as a family increases the number of natural killer cells. To get your kids to a lifelong fitness habit try to exercise with them regularly.

Fun activities including, bike riding, hiking, in-line skating, basketball, and tennis etc.

It will make the whole family run and play and make a good habit of fitness. And when kids start these activities at childhood they will enjoy them till lifetime.

Pressurizing your pediatrician to write a prescription for an antibiotic will not help every time. Extra antibiotic also stops increasing the immunity. When in such case try to get some home remedies. They don’t have any side effect and will help you feel better. Also, the ingredients of home remedies will only help in increasing the immunity and recovery from viruses.
